David Almansa
David Almansa is the Student Body Vice President of Florida International University. In this role, David serves as the liaison between administration and more than 56,000 students. David also assists in leading the operations and responsibilities of the Student Government, including the allocation of a $20 million budget for the enhancement of the overall collegiate experience.
Aside from his role as Student Body Vice President, David is a strong advocate for Fraternity and Sorority life and serves a dual role as President for his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon. In this capacity, David is responsible for spearheading initiatives that promote academic success, community service, and personal development among members.
Like many students at FIU, David grew up with the story of the American dream. His family being exiled from Cuba, he was raised with the stories of how his family worked hard to create a better life in the U.S. Now, as a second generation Cuban-American, David represents the result of how freedom and opportunity in this country allow for anyone, regardless of background, can achieve success.
With the pursuit of his B.S in Business Administration, David is aspiring to become a leader in the business world. Having served as a Student Government Senator for the College of Business, David has always worked to represent his peers within the University.
Through his role as Student Body Vice President, David is planning to implement initiatives that serve the student body and focus on student experience. Through his active involvement of all sectors of student life, David brings the perspective of our community and builds the bridge that unites our University.
